Elaf Alchurbaji
Business and Academic Manager

Elaf is the department’s Business and Academic Manager. Prior to joining the Department of African American Studies, she was a staff member at Georgetown’s School of Continuing Studies and worked as an account specialist at a DC-based marketing firm. Elaf has a degree in biochemistry from Eastern Michigan University.

Keturah Crawford
Student Office Assistant, Department of African American Studies

Keturah is a senior in Georgetown College, and is currently double majoring in African American Studies and Sociology with a minor in Government in the hopes of pursuing a career in Law. She is a Baltimore, Maryland native who enjoys playing piano, singing, and writing in her spare time. As a Student Office Assistant for the Department, Keturah aids in data sorting and filing, directing visitors, as well as uncovering new ways to bridge the department with the rest of the Georgetown community. 

Mike Lazarre
Student Office Assistant, Department of African American Studies

Mike is a junior in Georgetown College, pursuing a bachelor’s degree in both African American Studies and Justice & Peace Studies with a minor in French. Beyond his undergraduate career, Mike hopes to study Human Rights Law and work in the nonprofit sector. Native to New Haven, Connecticut, Mike enjoys fitness, dancing, music, and spending time with his younger brother outside of his academic obligations.
